Attorney Rosina Stambaugh Receives PIRC Light of Liberty Award

Latest News

The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) is a York County-based nonprofit organization that provides volunteer and no-charge legal services to asylum-seekers held in civil detention, or who have encountered other serious legal complications. Originally founded in 1996, PIRC has since been able to expand its services into nine south-central Pennsylvania counties. The expansion and continued success of PIRC is made possible by the efforts and donations of charitable community members.

For the last six years, PIRC has honored those who have contributed the most or shown the most dedication to its objectives with the Light of Liberty Award. It is with much excitement that our team at The Law Office of Rosina C. Stambaugh is able to announce that York Immigration Law Attorney Rosina C. Stambaugh recently received the 2017 Light of Liberty Award for her efforts, contribution, compassion, and total years of service while working with PIRC. Andy Mahon, the Board President, said that Attorney Stambaugh was a “relentless advocate” as he presented her with the award during the official reception ceremony.

We want to thank PIRC and everyone else who helped make this possible. Of course, we must also send our thanks and good wishes to all the people we have represented throughout the years.

More Information About PIRC

In 2016, the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center was able to provide trusted counsel and legal guidance to more than 2,000 immigrants. Mary Weaver, the Executive Director of PIRC, was quoted as saying, “Each volunteer and donor makes a critical difference, whether it’s legal representation, interpretation, forensic evaluations, or financial support in giving an asylum-seeker or an immigrant victim of domestic violence the support they need to start a new life. The work we do would not be possible without the time, talent, and financial contributions of our supporters.”

Due to the continual growth of PIRC that has been made possible by volunteers and donations, PIRC can today provide legal assistance, guidance, and useful advocacy to asylum-seekers at both the York County Prison and the family detention center in Berks County. It still maintains its primary goal of offering legal services to immigrants facing detention or removal in south-central Pennsylvania.

For more information about Attorney Stambaugh’s work, or if you need her assistance with an immigration case of your own, you can contact our firm at any time. She is also thoroughly well-practiced in criminal defense law, especially for defense cases involving immigrants, documented or otherwise.
